74 Dolls for Children in Zambia - Zoe's Hope Charity

Jodi (Australia), her Mum and Sister all got together and stitched up 74 amazing dolls to send to Zambia this month.

 Jodie has donated them to Zoe's Hope Zambia. In Zambia Zoe's Hope plans to build a transition home for children at-risk with a focus on premature babies, defiles & or pregnant teenagers.

I really love what Zoe’s Hope is doing  and am so happy to have found their website!

Hundreds and hundreds of dolls for children in Haiti!

It was wonderful to here from Monica again regarding the Doll Drive to Haiti, not only have they collected 100 dolls but these 8 little beauties were made by two teenagers!  Hooray!

"They were made with love by Megan (16) & Shannon (13) from Pennsylvania. Their mother encouraged them to sew for charity this summer, & this is what they created--very cute." Monica 

I think it's ever so important to teach our children to sew.  We only had 2 years of it at school when I was a child ..  and now they rarely teach it at all in school.

Congrats Megan & Shannon!  They are beautiful!

And then Monica told me .... something amazing happened!

Rebecca (USA) who knew about Dolly Donations saw 2 large boxes of dolls at an Estate auction. (The owners had been Missionaries in Africa for decades.)

And she sent all 363 handmade dolls to the Haiti Doll Drive!!!  

You are an absolute star Rebecca!!  

You can click on the photo to make it larger ... and you'll see all the detail, the clothes and sweet faces, clearly a lot of care, effort and love had gone into making them ..... These beautiful handmade dollies could have so easily have gone to waist in our throw away society!  I am so pleased and grateful that you found them and thought of us!!!

They will now be loved for years to come, the special companion to a little one in need in Haiti.

So the grand total so far is ..... 463 dolls! Hooray!!

700 dolls for the children of Guatemala!!!

Congratulations!  700 dolls have been sent in for the Dolly Donations Drive for Children in need in Guatemala!

How wonderful!  More dollies are showing up each day!!!!!  Their 500 doll goal might have seemed high but with everyone's big hearts and generosity they have blown that total away!!!!  Hooray!!!

116 hand made dolls for children in South Africa!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Emergency South African Doll Drive! 

Vivian needed 50 hand made dolls to give to a friend who works in a mission in South Africa for each of the 50 little girls in it's care ....  all extras would be delivered to local children in need.

An amazing 116 dolls 

were collected!!!! 

They are off on the long journey this week and should be with their new best friends very very soon!

Teddy Bear raises money for Cancer

This adorable Teddy was hand made by Lesley (AU) using one of my dress up softie sewing patterns to help raise money for the Australian Cancer Councils Relay for Life.

In his sporty outfit and cute little flag cheering everyone on ... I am not surprised he was a hit!!! He raised over $150 selling 65 raffle tickets! Hooray!!

The lovely kindhearted Dorothy is at it again! She's managed to get her wonderful "Sewing Seeds of Love" group to make up and send out 10 more fabulous dollies to Haiti! Hooray!!!

52 Easy Girl Dolls for Orphans in El Salvador!

Kimberly made my Easy Girl Doll Sewing Pattern up for the little girls in an orphanage in El Salvador! What a wonderful story!

"I was looking for a doll pattern to sew for my granddaughters when I happened on your site last summer. Our church goes to an orphanage in El Salvador several times a year and I KNEW this was something I wanted to do for the little girls there!"

Monkey's on a Mission UPDATE!!!!

Oh my goodness Mary just posted this on my FB page!! Awww it really made my day! The Monkeys on a Mission arrived safely ..... and...... This little boy is loving his New best friend !!!!!! Don't they look made for each other!!!  Of course all of the children loved their new friends!

Dolls for an orphanage in Ghana!

Australian Children's Hospitals Drive Update

Karin's cute Little Sisters need some help at the local dolly hospital!
But now they match their new best friends!

Australian Children's Hospitals Drive Update ... the Goal was 1000 dolls .......  this might sound high to some, but when we band together we can achieve amazing things!

Congratulations to everyone who took part in this wonderful Doll Drive!  A total of 1234 dolls and softies were made and are being distributed around Australia's Children Hospital Wards!

88 Dolls handed out to Children in Ghana

Amy's heading out to Ghana this week, but not empty handed by any means! She'll be taking 88 handmade dollies with her! Hooray!! There are going to be some very happy children this weekend! And it's all thanks to the talented ladies Sewing Bee from the United Church of Christ in Roberts, WI.

33 Dolls for the Children in Thailand

Two Sewing Sisters Jodi & Abby have sent 33 Dolls to Thailand this month!!  How wonderful!  There are all so cute, I love all the pretty colored fabrics you found!  And guess what, they are in the midst of making another batch to send over to Fiji with their Mum next week!

Happy kiddies in Haiti with New Dollies!

The lovely Dorothy just returned from a 9 day trip to Maissade, Haiti. But she didn't go empty handed ... she stuffed her suitcase with lovely dollies to give to the children!

"One of the ladies that sews dolls with me made this doll with her grand daughter and asked me to find a girl at the Melchizedek School that needed a sponsor and give the doll to her. Because of that connection this little girl's family is now being helped through One to One Haiti!" Dorothy

These were all special dolls of course ... each handmade with love ... Just look at this sweet one Dorothy's daughter & granddaughter made !! How pretty is her hair!!

"My daughter went on this mission trip and befriended a little Haitian girl, Dackenlove and her brother, Kevinsly. It was a joy to see Dackenlove receive this doll to cuddle. Her little brother loved his doll too!" Dorothy

How fantastic it must be for your granddaughter to see her dolly being loved by her new best friend!
